Artist’s Statement: “_Untitled_ is an exploration of lines within the language of graffiti. This exploration takes on a sculptural form. The lines echo the contour lines of the earth, indicating different levels of a plateau that sculpts our landscape.

“Similarly, lines on this maquette, created for a public sculpture design, echo the process of sketching graffiti letters in order to build certain forms. The relationship between sketching graffiti letters and contour lines forges a connection between the prevalence of graffiti language within the urban landscape with contour lines sculpting the earth. Untitled seeks to locate itself within its surroundings in a way that blends with the environment rather than imposing its presence on it.”
